Where Did Santa Go?

Where Did Santa Go?

A Poem by BlueEyedAngel

Twas the night before Christmas
when Santa had taken a wrong turn.
He forgot his glasses and ended
at the Promised Land, now concerned.

Old St. Pete began to laugh as Santa
stood in front of the Pearly Gates.
You're twin is down below waiting
to show you your new estate.

Old St. Pete pulled back the lever
and Santa landed at Satan's feet.
Just as Santa looked up, Satan said,
"That good for nothing St. Pete."

"Why you down here? Shouldn't you be
delivering gifts to people tonight?"
Santa said, "I've got double vision, have
trouble seeing everything just right."

I forgot my glasses and couldn't return
back home,
That's how I ended up landing in the
wrong zone.

Satan laughed so hard, then sent him
back to old St. Pete right away.
An Angel appeared by St. Pete said, "Here,
think you have the same problem today."

"Can't you see this is good
old Santa Claus, not Satan's twin?"
Then told Santa he'd lead the way,
and on Santa's face was a grin."

It then dawned on him,
Rudolph he had replaced.
Another good reason they
were in the wrong place.

When Mrs. Claus had seen how he
returned home, she shook her head.
Handed him his glasses then said,
"On thin ice you surely do tread."

How that Mrs. Claus puts up with him,
we will never know,
She must have lots of patience and love
him with all her soul.
