Midnight Candle

Midnight Candle

A Poem by Alysha
"

Something I wrote while morning the death of a dear friend.

"

A candle burns at midnight,

To mark a tragic slight.

A close friend has been taken,

Leaving me cold and God forsaken.

I have wept my sorrows away,

For I must remember her in a better day.

A time when we would smile,

Over boys, for a while.

A time when life was all we knew,

When there was nothing better to do.

She was always there to protect me,

She helped me to love myself, to see.

A candle burns at midnight,

To honor what is right.

In honor of Cyndi, my dear friend and sister, may you find peace where ever it is that you go.
