the stars

the stars

A Poem by Anjali

The stars were high,
above in the sky.

The purple was everywhere,
amongst the star light.

The silence was not deafening,
it was calming,
as it surrounded the whole lit night.

The stars were beautiful,
not a care in the down world.

Irridescent was their light,
as they made their very own rainbow,
amongst the starry night.

I want to be them, too.
And someday I'll be able, too,
like those little dreams up in the high...

You've Always Been A Star, they are all your Old Friends Up There, They are Wonderin' Where you Are, and what you Been Up To. So why don't you tell them the Next time you go to Visit, In your Dreams. WE all go Places every Night, what Not on a Starry, Starry Night, like this. No moon, it's a New Moon - it's time for the Stars to Dance, Why don't We Dance, Dance into a Brighter Day, Now that we Know, from where we are Shining. :)

I love the way your description of stars seems to be balanced between the way stars really are & some other imaginary aspects of how watching stars reminds us of faraway possibilities. Nicely imaginative way to show us some star watching and how it makes you feel (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you for entering your poem in my competition.

I liked its simplicity and the imagery you used (especially that of the purple sky).

For somebody so young you write with such beauty. Great things await you.

And I especially liked the fact of a rainbow in the dark :)

Thank you so much.. it means so much...☺
I admire stars and anything I read about them touches my heart. This seemed like a little wish you are wishing upon a star😀
Very pleasing to read. Keep dreaming and wishing.
