The Silence

The silence of a person unknown.
The silence of a person unheard.

It comes not from the shyness.
It comes not from the death.
It breeds from fear.

Fear of being Hurt.
Fear of scaring others.
Fear of being unwanted.

The Silence Keeps them safe.
But it also keeps them distant.

No one wills to break the silence.
So the silence continues.

The silent one.. won't break it.
It has to be broken by one whom cares.

Once truly broken.. it shant return.
Once truly broken.. The silent will speak.

I like how you showed a 'light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel" scenario at the end a lot. The idea that someone who truly cares can break the silence.

This reminds me of so many people and as if I am reading of myself. The fear of not being accepted or good enough, watching everything pass by while you're in the background. I love the diction and explanations and truth. AMAZING POEM =]

Love it.
I used to be a mute when I was a child.
It came from a bad experiance but with that came fear.
So i basically closed up and just wouldn't/couldn't speak.
Very relatable for me.
