The Prideful Child

The Prideful Child

A Poem by Arrinae
"

A poem about the ward of the medic's (Heroine) husband from 'To End the Crusade'

"

Arrogant and naive,

Was the ward.

Powerful in magic,

And intelligent too.

Trained by the best,

She thought she was too.

The Templars had hunted her,

For this she assumed.

While she did have skill,

All on her own.

She couldn't defend,

Even herself alone.

She could heal quite well,

They'd give her that.

Though by the medic,

She was quite out matched.

Caught in a trap,

To slay her keeper.

They told her a secret,

To taunt her further.

They let her go,

Watched her run.

She couldn't save the shade,

Controlled against his will.

She didn't have the time,

To purge the chaos from his body.

The medic killed him,

And freed his soul.

Thank you!
I feel like I am meeting an entirely new cast today. I like how these poems are tying into one another. She tried to help the general who was possessed, but she was not as powerful as she fancied herself and failed, watching him die at the hands of the medic.
