Feathers and bubblegum . . .

Feathers and bubblegum . . .

A Poem by Ash

A crimson bird once sat near my window,
Unchained and unfettered.
I could never catch such a freeborn creature.
Young and dangerously sensous.

Ah ! I remember that gum chewing waxwing.
Shambling along I reached for the knob,
But she was already over the horizon.
Carrying all the sunshine and that sticky bubblegum between her wings.
