Dear Enemy

Stressing over my math test

Concern about my project not being the best.

Footsteps at night behind me 

Never from the cage of fear are we free.

Monsters lurking beneath my bed 

"Don't look down!!" it is said.

Frightened at common things 

Fear has us hanging by a string.

When will we finally let go

Of the invisible threat, the unknown foe?

For as long as we are scared, 

Fear and us are forever paired.
