The Waking Hour (Version 4 - Final Tri-meter Revision)

The Waking Hour (Version 4 - Final Tri-meter Revision)

A Poem by B-poet

The Waking Hour is

An alibi to cope

With lost regrets which pierce

The soul with every

Step taken a last breath

Could relinquish a safe

Haven if The Waking

Hour came like a thief

In the night disguised as

Satan who's deemed be

A soul taker now knows

Endowed saints could now be

Seen as patron in the

Eyes of a world filled with

Bigamy and hatred

Willfully created
Deceptiveness would be
The only weapon used
For The Waking Hour
Red flags within the minds
Of every Waking
Follower's hopes and dreams
Would remain the only
Alarm clocks left to save
One another from a
Visually evident
Spiritual slaughter
Dormant enough to be
Untimely yet undone
For most modern skeptics

this is absolutely exquisite...your pen spills such spellbinding metaphors and pleasing meter.

i adore the slightly foreboding macabre images you weaved throughout this gem of a poem. this is one of my favorite writes on this site. -- i'm a huge fan of your art. -- xx -- barrie
