A Poem by Daniel Winters
"

I'm a bit bored of all this over-the-top romance

"
When I think of love,
I don't think of eternally holding hands,
In front of setting suns.
I think of holding onto these moments,
Between us,
For all we're worth,
Praying the sun will rise the same way tomorrow.

But just because I don't believe in forever,
Doesn't mean I don't want this to last.
Just because I don't rhyme;
'me' and 'you'
with 'free' and 'true'
Doesn't mean I'm ashamed to admit it.
And just because I don't
'Compare thee to a summer's day'
Doesn't mean your not worthy of those words.
I've just got different ways of telling you that.

I could hide my opinions of yo,
With a touching metaphor,
Or a thoughtful simile,
Or even say I'd do the impossible for you.
But I only use words I mean.
And I'll keep using these words,
Until I can't feel them anymore.

And the words Ill use for you are:
'I'
'Love'
and 'You'
