Pain's Box

Pain's Box

A Poem by WynterPhoenix
"

"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding." - Khalil Gibran

"

I keep Pain in shackles and chains.

So he won’t escape the box.

Pain has no where left to flee.

Because I keep him under locks.

The only time this Pain is free,

Is when he has been written in ink.

Cascading deeper into my sea of tears.

Pain is lonely. He begins to sink.

I take what’s left and lock him up.

He won’t come out. He’s afraid.

He’s filled with hate. Rage.

I wish I knew why he had stayed.

Pain wants another chance at life.

Though some will still remain.

Because he is not ready to fade away.

The only home I know is Pain.
