I was supposed:
To run away.
I didn’t.
To be an emotional wreck.
I wasn’t.
To delete this so you could easily call me a liar if I mentioned it.
Sorry I have no intention of making this easy for you.
To delete it, pretend it didn’t happen, and act like everything was fine.
You clearly have no idea who you’re dealing with.
You wanted me to believe:
That because you’d put a cartoon of the KKK on my profile
Of a man about to be lynched
With a warning message to me
That you wanted me to leave
That I would. Well I’m not going to.
The people of color here were supposed to believe
That the KKK were part of Writer's Café
That they were under attack as a group
That this wasn't the place for them and leave.
Well that's not going to happen.
And be grateful that it isn't.
We are a mighty force.
Clearly more mighty than you know.
Everyone here was supposed:
To believe that this site was closing
That hackers were attacking everyone
That all of our writing was at risk
Be so filled with fear that we left out of fear and hysteria
But Nope, that little ploy failed Miserably.
We were all supposed
To believe every dirty little lie you told.
You clearly underestimated many more than me.
And you have failed. Believe it.
But just the same you do owe me an explanation for why you did this.
And you owe me an apology.
I would prefer it be done publicly, unlike you, I know what kind of person I’m dealing with. So stay in the shadows and send me a private message and try to convince me that there is a reasonable reason why any of this happened.
I’m sure most here would prefer it that way since we’re all a little more than tired of this whole pathetic little scenario you’ve insisted on playing out on the forum and elsewhere.
I’ll be waiting for you Until then the cartoon stays.

Best thing you can do is continue to LIVE! Never lay down and die for them... I understand this kind of ignorance and hatred all too well... All my life I've felt the sting for being born intersexed. I've been run out of my hometown, beaten within an inch of my life, gang raped, thrown out, denied civil rights... long list of utter bs..., then on the internet if seems a free for all because the dullards can hide faceless behind their hatred and ignorance... I'm quite surprised I've yet to run into the ignorance here in the Cafe... Then again I've only recently started to expose myself so who knows when the hatred will start... but I won't run and I won't lay down and die either.
I applaud you for standing strong in the face of such hate!!!
They can even go so far as to kill us if they choose, but even in our deaths we will still be free! Free to stand up for who we are!
It's beautiful to see you aren't filled with hatred for all you've been through hon! You are a wise soul!
I never think of myself as being naive but that this happened is appalling to me and surprising as I always hope intolerance will die a natural death from suffocation. When it rears its ugly head I'm glad that there are strong people like yourself that take it on and wrestle it to the ground once again. Thank you for your insight. I always choose to read the first posted works of an author thinking that it will provide some insight into their souls...In this case I was impressed and glad of my choice.
Beautifully spoken. Graphical portrayed. I believe ever word you wrote is another step forward to pushing back fools like them. Racism will never die but with individuals like yourself who stand for the truth and put a face on these rats who love to hide in the shadows and post their trash on blogs and send out private messages so they will remain unknown is a testament to their our fear and self loathing. I applaud you.
This makes me sad... even though it is well written... simply because of the subject matter... racism is still alive and well... regardless of what anyone says. I'm a breed myself... 1/2 Anglo 1/2 Native... and I hate racism and intolerance of all shapes and sizes... E Pluribus Unum my a*s... LOL Out of Many... One? As long as you are the right color or shade... the right gender... the right religious denomination... the right dialect... the right education level.... just reminds me of a famous American who said a house divided against itself cannot stand... even though he was all for retaining slavery if it would preserve the union, and personally signed the death warrant of how many Santee? When will we learn that a threat to freedom anywhere is a threat to freedom everywhere.
Well written and provocative... in the best of ways...
I'll never have the same...problems...that you've faced or had, but I think that you're like the greatest person alive. You're stronger than the pathetic coward that posted that crap. You're so much better than them. Think about it like this...you can't spelll coward without COW!
You have just made my life. Standing up for yourself is probably the greatest thing you can do, and you do it x3000. Again, you have made my life.
And you handled it so well. I applaud you on that too. Great job. This is such a great piece.
PBP
KKK, weren't they a band from the sixties? Well, long outlived their time. I think "Halfbreed" was a song by Cher. lol You know how I feel about this so no need to elucidate. Hope you are well friend. I send you my love and best wishes. F.
Oh my god you are so awesome. This poem is so powerful and may make a great rap or hip hop song. The message of revenge is laid out perfectly with every sentence. Show those cowards who is boss girl and make them weep back into the shadows. It is pointless to hate because of color. So in conclusion thank you for writing this you amazonion of the pen.
I know this is a response at a much later time than when posted, but was not around at that time here at the cafe. I would act as though I'm surprised, sadly I am not. One would think that in today's world, our modern day Worldy societies, we would be well past these immature acts that deliver, stand for, and give birth to nothing but hate. The ugliest hate of any hate known to mankind! It not only makes me very sad to see such actions, but infuriates me to the greatest depths of my being. These type of actions are the very types of actions that stand effectively in the way of peace amongst us here on this earth. We are ALL people, human. We All have minds of our own. We are ALL individual beings that eat, breathe, and have blood running through our veins. We are ALL made up of emotions that differ not from one to the other, save for those like this. We have love in our hearts. But when monster's come along who are inhuman, insensitive to others, causing hate to be born in an otherwise pure heart it rips away a natural beauty that was meant to be, instills hate that was never meant to be manifested amongst such beautiful minds that have great power to reach out and touch the heart as though an instrument has played their favorite song of comfort. No words could ever express my feelings on this subject or even my feelings for all of the human race on this planet. Only can they suggest the sadness and sorrow in my heart, the bitter taste left in my mouth with disgust. Every community is plagued with such vile residents. Sadly, this community has proven to be no different. If hate weren't such a bad and nasty deed, then why hasn't the one guilty or the ones guilty of these acts displayed themselves? They know it is morally wrong forever more. Before, now, and everlasting it has been, is, and will always be flat out wrong. Two or more in disagreement is one thing, but outright racial and cultural hatred is born out of teachings from one to the other that whatever is amiss in their lives or whatever wants they so are denied is because of someone else that they are taught to think of as different, inferior. Nothing, I say again, NOTHING could be further from the truth. The greatest minds on this planet, when put together, will be seen to be from every walk of life. Every culture, every race, creed and religion that is known to the human race. That is the only race that should even be referenced with the word race. If ever used at all. It is the failings of past forefathers, in which we suffer this day. Some more than others, but we all have suffered their errors. It is a shame. That's not even enough to describe it. With one wrongful idea, the world was changed. Forever. We can only hope the future will be the way it should be, and teach our children love in place of hate. It matters not who is what or from where. Put a perfect balanced mix on a deserted island. Let it be so that each has one major ability each of necessity for survival. See who all looks up to the Doctor that saves lives, the Farmer who feeds the lot, the Tailor who makes their clothes, the Smith who makes the tools and goods, the Potter who makes their wares, and so on. No words will ever cover this in a proper and complete manner. Volumes have already been written, and still we find ourselves plagued with the same disease...HATE. I'm sorry not only for you, but with you. It should never happen at all, and definitely in a community such as this for we all are of common here...we're writer's. The ones to make that difference for change. The voice of many shouting out as one! May peace and happiness find you, friend. I certainly wish for the day you receive that apology that is in dire need of being given to you. It's not only needed and deserved, but paramount that it be given.
