Survived

Survived

A Poem by Ethale Captor
"

When a victim to murder survives...

"

You’ve tried

You’ve lied

You left me behind

You left me to die

But guess who survived?

You outlined

My body’s design

On the sidewalk

With white chalk

For someone else to find

I understand why

You’re scared to find

Me still alive

After expecting

Me to die

You’re lies fell

You’re eyes held

The last evidence

After all this

That you never wanted me

You devastated

Innocence dedicated

To a girl who waited

So long to be like you

Now she’s through

I’m not holding back

So you can attack

I’m not gonna lack

In ferocity this time

This time it’s my turn

Equilibrium of misfortune

The face of dark distortion

Revenge of great proportion

Will cause your remorse and

Ultimately your demise

All because

I survived
