An Atheist having a conversation with God about the meaning of life

"

Life (April 2010)

God looked me in the eye

And told me the truth.

About

Life, liberty and Earthly pursuits.

It was only a minute

That we spent talking alone,

As his mouth spouted knowledge

Too hideous to be known.

He explained to me,

Intricately,

The meaning of “so called” life;

As he simply said “you do what you want

And when you’re done, you die.”

I looked upon his face

As

He stared back with a grin;

And asked if I was disappointed

That this is all there is?

But

I couldn’t help but chuckle

As I slyly smiled back

And said

“Now that I’m in on the joke

I can finally f*****g laugh!”

This write has a very clear message to me:
- "You do what you want and when you're done, you die."
We should all do what WE want, not what others push us to do. We have dreams and we should try to accomplish them. And when we've reached our goals we can peacefully slip away...
Wonder-full poem. Remarkably done.

There is a wit about this piece I thoroughly enjoyed
and a picture you painted of god, jester-esque in a sense,
I found charming.

Good work.
