Perfect Pearls

Perfect Pearls

A Poem by Brenden Moran

I felt you take my coarse hands
And caress them fluidly with yours
I brushed away your seaweed strands
To reveal muddied eyelid shores

Your thumb rushed over my palm
To reassure the calm before the gale
With your waters quietly aplomb
Carrying your ship's torn sail

Your still encompass warmed my lull
And your story carried as the wave
You floated aimless, as the gull
Into the lusty storm you braved

Your salty tears ran as creeks
Down your pebbly smooth face
Once a steady dam, now leaks
Upon your coral lace

Your storm rocked upon my breast
Like a tsunami's rushing whirl
And ne'er would it let or rest

Just two marred perfect pearls

This was great! I loved it.

Very well structured, rhythmic and with elegant imagery. One minor typo - first line should read 'coarse', but the overall effect of the writing is very effective.

your attention to elegance did not go unoticed by me, though why there aren't 3 dozen comments, I haven't a clue...

I really enjoyed this read Brenden, I always do appreciate your classical form.

Some of the rhymes border on cheesy, like lines 1 and 3 of the last stanza, but there is enough beauty to compensate for it.

The title is truly excellent and the fact that the poem ends with it, is truly something I found a bit thrilling.
