~All But A Memory~

a distant memory that seems so serene

the serene sea, meets my feet peacefully.

the ocean breathes, and the wind strokes me.

the sand seeps through my toes,

and the sun beams dance upon my nose.

the birds caw, and fly all around me,

yet i am focused on the sea, and all its beauty,

the wave of water crashes upon another,

i step one foot in, and prepare to go under.

i look out in the distance, and silently watch the waves,

but they appear to fade lighter, until it all goes completely away,

then i'm back in my living room, sitting in front of the fan,

it was all just a memory, but what's this on the floor? a grain of sand.
