Duality of Mind

Been quite a while since I dabbled. So here is something I wrote after watching a comedy show.

A duality of mind

that breeds a neutrality of kinds

evident over the passing of time

no field of dreams as barren as mine

one part rational

some say skeptical

others claim cynicism 

but I blame romanticism 

the other part

so happy and care-free

day dreams while the other side

never dreams as it sleeps

bubbling over with emotions of all kinds

as one side cleans up

pushing it all back into 

the deep recesses of the other mind

One a child while the others the adult

inner dialogues always ensue 

a quick battle is waged 

for every time I have spoke

The romantic side sees and explores

but the rational side implores 

it to leave and let die its form

but it will never surrender its core

so here I stay

plagued with this duality of mine.

An interesting poem with very accurate descriptive words. Quite a psychological turntable of sorts too!
