Ostenatious Orator

Ostenatious Orator

A Poem by Bubo
"

For some who is just not even worth talking about anymore. I find it hard to believe people like this walk the earth. Still, she couldn't break us.

"

You took hold on a man

You couldn’t possibly understand

Manipulated his hopeful plans

While you lay upon his skin

Shared the depressive wine

Aware it didn’t sit well inside him

Plying his dreams with useless tips

Showered fruitless gifts

Took him on seaside trips

Paid his rent

To trap him within

Stale walls barren

Of touch and my presence.

Laughter never reached his eyes

When you fucked him

It was my skin he touched

My lips he sipped

It’s tribal, you see

His flesh known to me

As scent of taste lingers

On his fingertips burning

Breathing me in,

Essence you could never hope to reach.

When you slept

It was my ear he craved

As his life fell apart

You gave him a car

As I lay in fields of Ashburton

He escaped you

By leaving the door open

For tightly wrapped nights

Where that connection

Could not be broken

I wept

Called yourself all woman

But yet

I still stood

While fallen

You choked

On a man you created.

I weep no more,

Nor think much of you

You could not strip memories

While you built your own,

Be advised you will not dwell

Inside my head

For I have scattered your lies

Including the one I am paranoid

And moved on to better days,

Weight of solid silver removed

No fourth husband for you

My voice just as powerful

Written in words.

This is a very sad, but beautiful poem. It's very well written and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this subject of this poem. In my interpretation, it seems like the certain person you were with was probably in love with you. However, since it seems like you weren't in love with him, it seems like you wouldn't truly open up to him. If I'm not mistaken.lol...

Well anyways, I really enjoyed this. Eventhough in your description you said that it was only a rant without a rhyme or flow, I still think it's poetry with very nice meaning.

Nice job.:)

LOVE the ending. how well it fit the rant and rave of the web. the poision seeping and flowing as she intoxicated and infiltrated you. GOD how true this is of someone i know right now who has crawled under my skin and made me so angry with things i can't get past certain issues in my writing. dismantled line...spot on.

Just enjoyed every moment of this - what a decisive series of statements to make. One of the hardest things in life sometimes is to hold on to your principles, your cool and your dignity. But if you can do it, unlike those around you - then what it does entitle you to is this. A clear, concise and cutting assesment of the way things are, the way things where and the way they will be.

A real write of strength - and one that triumphs over the sadness it once held - brilliant!

A wonderful wonderful emotional display...you have laid out a lovely first handed feeling to those who have been crossed. It's an empowering piece that to me says, respect the woman on the other side, because it might one day be you, and respect yourself.

AGREED RANT ON! You have a voice, use it! Even if it is through your writing, still has the same effect. It flowed well. I enjoyed reading it. Bury the one who has done you wrong and walk by as if their existance meant nothing to you. Very strong and uplifting.

Rant on! This must have been very catharctic to write. You have new beginnings and new chances, leaving the old biddy behind. lol. Hope she stays buried and gone. - Mimi.

I don't know what can be said that hasn't already been said....your honesty and willingness to share it are powerful tools and it shows in your writing. Chloe called it an exorcism...a very proper term perhaps...sometimes thats all we can do...is cast it out onto the page....

It was my skin he touched
My lips he sipped
Its tribal, you see
His flesh known to me,
As scent of taste lingers
On his fingertips burning,

This is my favourite bit, like many other people it seems. Love it Sam x
