The Most Atrocious Thing in Life/Unnatural

The Most Atrocious Thing in Life/Unnatural

A Poem by CassieBookWorm8

Is it the sorrow in a melted cone on a hot summer’s day?

It is the chill when are released, bleary eyed, from your cocoon of blankets in the morning?

It is the pain of a splinter when climbing a tree?

No.

These are no more than trivialities.

For the most atrocious thing in life is standing here today,

at this grave.

For a parent

should never

have to bury

their child.
