Final Scene

Sometimes... All the time,

I find myself wishing that life was like a movie

Or that special page you read so fast but lose yourself between the words.

 

I wish at this very moment they'd appear

And say it's all their fault,

Tears growing in their eyes,

They were oh so wrong.

And they want to make it right.

 

And we're perfect and beautiful,

Holding hands like we used to.

 

There's a sunset.

There's no regret.

This is the final scene and tommorow's daily tragedy isn't there to f**k up everything again.

This is a poignant piece of writing... I happen to be a huge fan of free verse that breaks all the rules, and also a fan of a person with a strong "poetic voice", this piece shows both of these things.

--I think that we all want this...I know that I certainly do. I often get this odd sense in the back of my mind that my life is like a movie, and this poem is a welcome affirmation of that. Great writing.
