A Poem by Colorado Brian

So many days of my youth was spent

As a Miner, digging for Gold

Or a Pirate on a stolen ship

Looting, thieving and bold

'X' marks the spot on a treasure map

At least, that's what I was told

I'd search all day and into night

Until a chill brought in the cold

Those youthful days have come and gone

Though never a treasure I found

Searching near and searching far

With my faithful basset hound

My dreams of finding riches

Jewels, and Silver and Gold

Began fading into history

As I began to grow old

Then one day I struck it rich

When I was on the 'net

Finding what was priceless

As if I'd won a bet

It wasn't cash or diamond rings

This was real and not Fools Gold

This was better than material things

A beautiful sight to behold

A treasure I had finally found

Where I hadn't found one yet

The mesmerizing writing of

One David Lewis Paget

Well, I think this poem is truely a treasure. It took me a while to find David's poems myself. When I finally realized who was writing these marvellouos epics, I went back into his archives and began digging them out. Now I read every one he posts.
