An Undelivered Poem

An Undelivered Poem

"

These words are for you, as all of them are...

"
An Undelivered Poem
A Poem by Colton Warr

I feel unsettled and missing
Like a nomad traveling through an unknown land
Nettled and Reminiscing
I once knew every small texture of your hand

I feel confused and paranoid
Like a man who had just committed murder
Fused and Destroyed
My mind does everything to preserve her

I feel soulless and guilty
Like the Grim Reaper who comes to take
Boneless and Filthy
I am broken in ways I did not know I could break

I feel stressed and disturbed
Like a student before the final exam
Oppressed and Perturbed
I think I have given you all that I am

*****

Could I ask?
Do you sometimes feel as if you’re going through the motions?
Drink from my flask
I beg to again be lost within your ocean
Could I touch?
Do you sometimes reach out for my face with your hand?
Your hearts clutch
Shackle me in, never again to disband
Could I kiss?
Do you sometimes still gaze into nothing, wishing it was me?
I guess I miss,
Whenever you were the only thing I would ever see

Amazing poetry my friend. You brought me in and held me to the last words.
"Could I touch?
Do you sometimes reach out for my face with your hand?
Your hearts clutch
Shackle me in, never again to disband
Could I kiss?"
The above lines are amazing. I could write a complete poem from these words and emotion. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

This is an amazing piece of literary genius! Well done. I especially liked where you used everyday images to describe the speakers emotions. It connects the reader, and therefore allow them to relate, since they have experienced it before.
This is really wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing this piece with the world.

Each stanza contained an emotion that compelled the reader to go on and feel the sorrow that the words contained. It was a great poem.

It was my pleasure Colton. It was a splendid poem.
Omg... XD beautiful in everyway. Your poem must be Google... Because it has everything I'm searching for XD. But seriously, it flows and isn't consistent in rhythm, it creatively moves the persons thoughts whilst placing the reader in the poet's shoes. It takes you to another place and shows your romantic character 😜. Very refreshing 👏🏼👍🏻

This is so beautiful . It physically hurt me when I read the lines, "I once knew every small texture of your hand," and "My mind does everything to preserve her," and "I am broken in ways I did not know I could break."
You've absolutely captured the hollow pain of loss, those moments you spend alone desperate to have them back, for everything to be the way it was once. I also love the line, "Drink from my flask?" and how it's followed with, "I beg to again to lost within your ocean." because when you're apart from someone you feel so empty and dried up, and they, seeming like the source of your joy, seem plentiful and abundant. Lovely poem.

I love the rhythm and raw emotion of this poem. We all have those loved ones in our lives, whom we regret not saying either goodbye, or I love you to. It seems I too, have An Undelivered Poem on the apex of my heart, which I will (regrettingly) never get to proclaim.
