Ode to the Stars

Ode to the Stars

A Poem by Cass Ashe

Time passes and I still see you
peaking out from the amethyst hue.
When the light shies away I see you shine
upon this little world of mine.
So distant and burning bright
as I get lost gazing in the night.
I see you running like a lion
and dancing with Orion
and I know you're always there
whether it be cloudy or fair,
to illuminate every tree,
every owl and every sea.
Should the light rise so fast
your memory will be one to last
for nothing would please me more
than to once more hear the score
played each night by lady moon
and see you dance to the tune.
