Reach Out

Reach Out

A Poem by Cass Ashe

A word from the abyss of unreason,
Chatter unexpectedly out of season
That permeates so clear and so needed,
But has never wanted to be heeded.
Reach out
Arms spindling in the words presented,
A gentle embrace not to be resented
For it shall bring light into the dark
On the heart where hell left it's mark.
Reach out
Such a lonesome world that persists
And to life a mind that so resists
The warmth of gentle compassion
Taken as if it was only a ration.
Reach out
Hands outstretched to a hurting friend,
Until they massage the pain and rend
It to the dust which clouded the eyes
To stop seeing only selfish lies.
Reach out
Hear the truth beyond the seen
That should prove to lovers most keen,
Grasping uncertainty with one another
Like a kin-bound sister to a brother.
Reach out

There is no lasting definition of me, as I am endlessly seeking to grow and change as a person, but feel free to call me whatever you desire, as my pen name is only that- a pen name. My poetry is a re.. more..
