Farewell

Farewell

A Poem by Ebb and Flow
"

Inspired by Never Let Me Go-Florence and the Machine

"
Delivered
upon the seabed
with deposits of the finest silk,
a pillow of coral nestles
my foggy head
as water fills my lungs.
Such sweet coldness
envelops me in the icy depths.
Like a lover, I am greeted with
a kiss to my brow and
hug to my frame.
I can rest here, and sleep
forever in this
deafening silence.

Sunlight filters through the
surface and dances
across my face.
Struggling to fight my end
I reach out my hand for that
beautiful light,
as a last farewell
if you will.
