The Face of Innocence

The Face of Innocence

A Poem by Taylor M.
"

Just a short poem about a boy I knew.

"

I knew a boy, and to me he was the face of innocence.

Never could I imagine a purer heart or spirit.

But time wore on, and the face I knew changed.

The heart of gold became tainted with the wrath of youth.

His face no longer was the sweet smile I remember.

I knew a boy, and to me he was the face of innocence.

But now he is the face of sleepless nights.

I still believe the golden heart rest beneath that hard mask.

Because the face of innocence is hard to change.

The changes of life are such... but what we remember often go and part ways... the face of innocence is there as you say... just the follies of life has hidden the view...

Tainted with the wrath of youth.

TAINTED. So much power is such a small word. Do not be so hard on your words or your writing. I loved it very much. Smile. You did wonderful!
