The Face of InnocenceA Poem by Taylor M.Just a short poem about a boy I knew.I knew a boy, and to me he was the face of innocence. Never could I imagine a purer heart or spirit.
But time wore on, and the face I knew changed. The heart of gold became tainted with the wrath of youth. His face no longer was the sweet smile I remember. I knew a boy, and to me he was the face of innocence. But now he is the face of sleepless nights. I still believe the golden heart rest beneath that hard mask.
Because the face of innocence is hard to change. © 2013 Taylor M.Author's Note
