We Are Human Too

Thought of this while watching Hidden Figures and that movie is amazeballs!

We are human too

People say they feel pain all the time

It's so simple for them

They can say it anytime

They can have money, clothes or even a rare gem

But not for us

Because we're different

Please know that we are not just making a fuss

We know better than that

We were forced into submission

Yet we are told to rejoice and be happy

It's like this is their mission

To make our life crappy

Are we not the country's citizens too?

You are destroying our mentality

What do you want us to do?

Change our looks or nationality?

Tell me is it selfish to want what others have always had?

Do we not deserve it as well?

Why do we have to look evil or bad?

Why should we be silent and not angrily yell?

I, like my family want to be part of our society

I, like many others want to make my own choice

I want to see true equality

And I would like to genuinely be happy and rejoice

But no, we can't do that

For no reason we get shot

And we get hated or spat at

But think, is it really our fault?

But it's not about me I am worried for

Its for my kids, their future, your future and you

You should know I do not wish for another war like before

Because I care for you and your life, too

So here is something you should have known in the first place

Although we may have many different things

Different languages, religion, nationality and skin colour

No matter what, we all belong to the same race
