Demons

Demons

A Poem by Sarah Jane

If only I could bleed, or sleep!
A poet once wrote
How peaceful and serene it would be

So cool and silken the world they see
But lingering demons tarry beneath
Oh so silent, in evil slumber

Write me a letter by dawn
Send those crude words to the sea
My eyes shall burn by night

Anger rises with fear to spare
The demons rise once again

Screaming from my insides out
Don't weep for me, my friends
Save the steel which ceased my tears

Find my spirit among the lost

Know no love, know no pain
My concience once whispered
How peaceful and serene that would be
