Get Better

Get Better

A Poem by Daisy
"

I tried to put myself in someone else's shoes.

"
We should love ourselves they say
But how do you feel?
It's impossible to smile for a whole eternity
Not even if you lie to yourself

Sometimes the shadow of sorrow
Flies over your head and clouds your thoughts
You can't do it any more, you can't lie
The truth is sometimes you hate who you are

I hate the meat around my bones
The dark circles underneath my eyes
That feeling of a second chin, which no one else can see

Sometimes you want to take a knife and just cut it off
Let it bleed
Because you'll be thin
So the blood doesn't matter

That voice scares me
I could do crazy things
Sometimes I feel the loss of control
It's wanting to sit in the front seat

I won't let it
I won't allow myself to be weak
The voice will fade
It will get better
Please
Get better.
