Chosen Pessimist (Song)

Chosen Pessimist (Song)

A Poem by Damien Davison
"

Moon's light when clouds' darkness consumes...

"
It seems I've lost my way again
Think back
Have you ever really found it yet
Moon's light when clouds' darkness consumes
Light from the stars
Won't be making it through

As my powers get stronger
My hope is fading
Keep living longer
More medication
Just want to hold her
Love's dissipating
Be normal
Ostracism evading

Although I am the chosen pessimist
I've gotta keep a light on
To support the shattering stress
Slippin back in to addiction
Drinking love's poison to win it
Conquer all the wrong with a wrong or two
It's me I'm killing

I guess we'll all die anyway
Deal with it right memory is still stained
An uneasy stack of bullshit with no support
Just let it all go
Think nothing of the sort

Sounds easy
Have you seen what I've seen
Done what I've done
Been what I've been
Swam up the same stream
And dreamed the same dreams
Don't mean to be mean
But it's yourself you can't see.
