Not my Beacon

Not my Beacon

A Poem by Daphnee
"

You were a light, just not mine

"
Trust & Love took absence to my little World
You, like a beacon, led them home with your light
My walls would have done their job right and stayed up,
But instead you barged in and used them as a welcoming mat
Life turned amazing, like a beautiful dream
I vowed to chastize anyone who woke me from my breath-taking, lucid, life
Reality hit, plans of your own developed
You, my dream, transformed into my nightmare
Realization struck me....
You weren't my beacon of light....
You were the tempting, dangerous, heat lamp....
And me?
I was the foolish moth

wow, beautiful poem. You did an awsome job on this one, my favorite part of it is how well you captured the regret of going to the person by comparing him to a lamp and you to a moth! excellant job!!
