No Pants

No Pants

A Poem by DaughterNature

“I see you did decide

that pants are overrated,”

as he stumbles

from bed,

blue-striped boxers

winking

from the doorway.

He’s going to rescue

cinnamon buns

from the oven and

bring me

a glass

sweating with milk.

The dog grunts

and gets up to

follow him

then returns

and hops up on

his place

in the bed.

Tuesday,

rainy and overcast,

10 o’clock,

but we’ve

nowhere

to be

but here.

to answer your question to Chris, I honestly don't see what you can do to make it better! this absolutely sweet, romantic even. you write with such ease and you describe a tender moment.
I love this.

Nostalgic and easily imagined. This captures a moment locked in time and destined to be remembered. I truly liked this one.
