Cycle of Birth and Death

Cycle of Birth and Death

A Poem by Devi DM

As fires rage on throughout lifetimes,
Winds of change steer each course of destiny
And torrents of rain pierce through each heart
Waking souls who could not part.
Their lifeless bodies now begin a new day
Bringing light to where darkness once lay.

As the air chokes away the shackles held tight,
The moon descends from broken night
Baring a new sun full of glare and might
The world once again awakes from its deadly plight.

With burdens laid to bed we now embrace
The way life begins over a new time and place,
Till again we fight and forsake
As the cycle continues till death again we face
Or to the Lord of the Universe we reach by grace.
