Life is…

 

Life is a flame from a lighter

I, the flame

Am finally lit up

After time after time of trying

 

Struggling to stay bright

My demons rush in

The ones I just killed

 

I’m determined not to die

But eventually

Out of weakness

I let my demons take over

 

I am dead

I am now the demon

 

Life is a tsunami

After fighting with the supernatural

I stand there

Collapsing into the sand

 

Just after one breath

There’s the giant wave

I see it coming

But I’m too exhausted

 

I close your eyes

And it overtakes me

 

I didn’t fight back

I gave up

 

The happiness that’s promised

A war comes along with it

 

I can choose to fight the battle

Doesn’t mean I’ll survive

Many do

But I don’t

 

I lay there in the middle of battlefield

Helpless

 

Life is meant to be treasured

That’s what they say

But how can I treasure something so

Destructive

 

Life is dangerous

Life itself will kill you

Before anyone else can
