Tonight

Tonight

A Poem by sedona._.arizona

Tonight

As smooth as silk,
As cold as ice.
If the truth lies in the past,
where is tonight?

The shadows move.
They flicker and bow.
If they aren't you,
where did you go?

A shortness of breath.
A humming so low.
A craving for touch,
but by the unknown.

Lies smell of smoke.
They fill your lungs.
It's hard to breathe around you.
I can taste it on your tongue.

Like a snake,
slithering so low.
The grass forms around.
It's starting to grow.

Changing the pattern.
The frequency you know.
If I am gone by tomorrow,
I hope you will know:

As smooth as silk,
As cold as ice.
The truth lies in the past,
but you lied that night.
