Don't let this noise confuse you, dear Or it might just take control. Don't let the demon find you here. He'll dance upon your soul.
He'll break your mind. He'll rape your soul There ain't chance you'll get him gone. He'll take his time and eat you whole. Get away while you still can get home.
All he needs is a second. Don't let his noise confuse you. You'll be done in an instant. You've got to let him lose you!
Your legacy, with you, will die Your legend won't be heard. Don't let him sing his lullaby. Please heed this final word.
Over and over. Again and again. They come to hear his song. Hear, they do. And leave, they don't. To death, they'd prove me wrong.
This is told in a style that I imagine was the way tales, fables and proverbs were shared in the past.
I get the feeling of this demon as very much a real person - a Don Draper kind of guy who takes women's hearts and consequently their souls when they used and later are spurned and forever 'darkened'.
The speaker is a friend of the demon - well a friend who remembers the demon before he was this 'thing' - perhaps they were school pals and once shared an innocent time of boyish adventure - inseparable 'blood-brothers' like in the movies.
Now the demon is in charge of the erstwhile friend and the speaker is trying to save girls from him while keeping the faith that his friend will repair.
My favourite of yours so far C.I.
Well done!
