Nobody Knows Me

Sinking.
Drowning.
Lower and lower I go.
Gasping for air.
Trying to breathe.

I am unable to get stronger.
How could I possibly last longer?

I thought you were the one who thought I was smart.
I thought he, a leader of mine, knew who I am.
He doesn’t.
He thinks I’m quiet and shy.
How could he believe that lie?
I see him as my family.
Does he not hear me when I speak?
Does he not notice me when I act?

Why isn’t any of the good I do recognized?
Am I invisible?

I must be insignificant.
I must be stupid.
I must not be here.
No one would even see if I shed a tear.

Damn, I am not anything at all.
There’s nothing to catch,
When there’s nothing to fall.
