Always

Always

A Poem by Elise Pehrson

Remember when

Our love was a sin

And we’d kill

For each other?

It’s as though we lost

Our feelings, the cost,

Forever

In defiance.

Please show me now

Explain to me how

we kissed

Between silence

Walk with your air;

The breath of your stare

Cutting through

Every inch of me

 broken…

Kill me softly

Hurt me sweetly,

Then bring me back.

Sing to me silence

The hum of a drum

Infect to me sweetness

And listen to no one.

Forget everything

Everyone

Except you and me.

Love to me now

Love like was then

Love to me always and

Forever and then….

Kiss me the stars

Settle for Mars

Because

You’ll always have

Me.
