The Girl With No MoneyA Poem by I Am SvetlanaYou shrug your shoulders As you make your way down the street. You were the one that everybody Whispered about, the girl with no money. Everyone thought you were nothing, But the dust upon another's shoe You had the books to help you escape, But instead of reading, you listened. Gazing toward the horizon, You never heard a bit of silence. Whether it'd be people or the animals, You felt that everything, everywhere, was talking about you. All you wanted was to stop the voices. So, you proudly made a noose, placed it around your neck. You said one last goodbye to the world And it was all over. Now, you are no longer 'the girl with no money'. Just a name on a gravestone. © 2014 I Am SvetlanaReviews
