Only An Artist

I am only an artist...nothing more, nothing less.

I am only an artist.
My mind is elsewhere,
far away in time.
It comes as no surprise
that words burn and die
in everyone's throats.
Only the Devil knows
what is to remain
right from the start.
This is not the first time
I have ended up
in a place beyond fear.
