Drifting Apart

Drifting Apart

A Poem by Emily

Friends until the end

Is what we always swore

But somehow that doesn't matter anymore

Youre still there

Im still here

But the bridge in between has fallen

Theres no way across,

theres no way around

we cannot go back

What we had is gone

We drifted apart

And what we had cannot be found

But every once and a while

When I look back at what has been

I will always be glad

That once we were friends

I really like this poem. Your use of rhythm and rhyme really helps the piece flow nicely. Great job! Keep it up!
