Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast

Welcome, weary wanderer
Rest your head, look around
All desires can be found
Every scent, every sound
Take all you wish, but one fine rose
Ignore their beauty abound.

Phantom, so kind to me
Your palace, so stately
This haven has me so intrigued
That gentle scent, so sweet.
But wait, what can that be?
The scent now beckons me
It comes but from the roses red
A red rose for my beauty.

You cruel, betraying fiend
I cared for you willingly
I took you in, I trusted thee
I trusted, you betrayed me
You took my rose, I take your soul
Fair payment, nasty thief

Please no! Wait and see!
The rose was not for me
But for my daughter, my beauty
Please, take her
Not me.

I’ll take your offer sir.
You must stand by your word
Your daughter must be sent to me,
Three days you have, my sir.
If no beauty arrives,
Be sure, my sir, to find
Your life, and your Beauty fine,
I’ll take, your rose shall die.

I swear, foul beast, I’ll send
My Beauty, with regrets.
I will send my darling to your gates,
How I love my Beauty to no ends.

My father, I cannot go.
This beast, you do not know
He may not harm us if I stay
Oh please! Don’t make me go!

My Beauty, you must leave.
Go now, I beg you please?
I do this not for my selfish soul,
I do this in care of your family,
They cannot carry on without me.

Goodbye, family, so dear.
This beast gives me no fear
My father, please don’t fret for me,
Oh please, don’t shed one tear.

Why hello, sweet beauty.
Please find here all you need.
I provide for you all desires,
But promise me, never leave.

Phantom, I can now see
What father wanted for me.
I promise you I will not flee.
Even your ugliness will not make me leave.
Your soul so kindly speaks.
Your words sing so gently.
I will never leave.

My Beauty, can you see
The beauty within me?
I love you, Beauty,
Will you marry me?

Kind soul, I cannot be.
My frail love, you see
Cannot be shared with one like thee
Kind beast, please set me free.

My dear, now you may leave.
But you must return to me.
You must return, now promise here,
Return after one week.

I thank you beast, so sweet.
Return after one week.
Your promise is only fair to me.
You loved and cared for me.

Dear Beauty, your home at last.
The beast has set you free.
I knew he could not hold you there,
Stay here my Beauty.

Father, I must now leave.
I must return to beast.
I cannot stay, I promised, see
To return after one week.

My Beauty it has been
Past the day to leave.
My Beauty, you lost count of days
It has been but two weeks.

Do not hate me beast!
I returned, late but please
Do not hate me, I did not mean
To stay more than a week.
Beast? Please answer me!
Please listen, I am sorry.
I told you now, I have returned
Where are you, dear beast?

Kind soul, you cannot have died!
My selfish wants killed you inside.
I loved your soul, that should be enough,
Yes beast I will marry you,
If your love to me still resides.

My beast! You are alive!
I will stay, always reside.
The ugliness can never mask,
Your kind soul inside.

My Beauty, I love you still,
You found it in your heart,
To realise that beauty
Comes from within.
