One More Day

A poem about loss

If I could have just one more day,
Id wish for another yesterday.
To talk, and laugh and fill you in,
On everything thats been happening.

If I could have just one more time,
Together with you, in our prime.
Remembering all the good times past,
Not having to think wen would be our last.

If i could have just one more chance,
To see you on earth, just one more glance.
To savor every word you say,
If only we had, one more day.

I know, you are, at rest now,
As at your graveside, we sit and bow.
But thankful of those times we had,
For all those memories, we are so glad.

Well always love you, so so much,
Even though you are out of touch.
Sleep tightly now, at peace and rest,
God only ever takes the best.

Very, very nice work ! The sentiments expressed are very good, and I really like the way you make the effort for ryhme and cadence. To me, as I have said before, makes you a true poet in my estimation. There are times we need to depart from that format, I understand, to make a piece really work effectivey, but I think we should try to maintain it as our major discipline. Thankt you for bringing this particular one to my attention. I really like it.
