Drug

Drug

A Poem by Andrea Di Martino
"

poem for a girl i loved.

"
Jonesing for a hit,
Your voice an aural opiate
Coating my nerves,
Firing euphoric.
I wish I could distill your essence,
Inject you in my veins
As analgesic to your absence.

Great analogy and choice of wording. You really get the feeling across of needing another human being like a fix. Its brilliant really. Awesome work!

I was raised under a strict code of ethics that leaves no room for drugs or drinking. However, if this poem is pertaining to a girl and not an actual drug, then the metaphor is great and well written. Sorry if I came off too strong, my mother was raised in a addictive atmosphere and she grew up trying to protect me from it. Best of luck, and keep writing
