To Be.

To Be.

A Poem by F.Gentil
"

This came to me like a wave, crashing on the shore, fierce but simply elegant all at once.

"
If you were to be deaf and blind,
and have no knowledge of this world
You wouldn't know weather you were a boy or girl,
Life would be a constant exploration
The sense of taste, smell, and touch would be your only indication
Of a world in which you would be at eternal peace,
Living as just a being.
You would just be.
You wouldn't know of wars,
Death, or what pain was.
It would just be something that wouldn't mean that much.
When you found the one you love,
it wouldn't matter if they were like you or different
Had the same organs as you are not,
Because you wouldn't truly understand what you got.
Yet your heart would allow you to know
and that would be the purest form
of love from one to another.
The heart would feel warmth,
The soul would know, what it is to just live
Happily in mystery.
And your dreams,
You would always live them.
Each day would be brand new,
Your heart would bypass bias judgements.
For you know no difference between black or white.
Pretty or ugly, nothing could be wrong or right.
It makes one wonder the true meaning of life.
If tomorrow I would wake up with no voice or sight,
And as easily as I say, it could happen tomorrow or today,
For these words wouldn't mean nothing if you couldn't see or hear them,
and only those who see could understand and read between them
between these lines,
Of who is truly living and who is truly deaf and blind.
