Battle Scars

Battle Scars

A Poem by Jazzlyn B Barden

On your arms,

On your thighs,

On your stomach,

And on your sides.

Waging a war,

With my own little head.

Saying I’m happy,

When we know it’s all pretend

Worthless,

Worthless,

I’ve always been worthless.

For every imperfection on me,

There’s a scar that you’ll see.

Battle wounds,

Battle wounds,

all over me.

There’s no one here around,

to tell me not to bleed.

Honest and direct words. I liked them. We will bleed and we must never give-in or give-up. Thank you Jazzlyn for sharing your excellent poetry.

This is wonderful!! I personally really relate to pieces like this, I've struggled with these things myself. If you ever want to talk or anything its no problem, even if you just want to run by a writing piece of yours to me!! great job keep it up :)
