Fractured Windows

Fractured Windows

A Poem by D Alan Johnstone

Dusk seeps in

through gaping holes.

I am drunk.

The window and I

in solidarity.

My hole to fill

with 2D visions

…apparitions

for whom I am 2D as well.

Endless chatter

shares deep secrets

with 2 dimensions

I know the least.

Why do I let these beasts in

through fractured windows?

Why not burden

those I touch

with my secrets

…my love?

Anonymity?

…could be

or the need to

be seen,

admired,

adored at times.

Fairy tales don’t survive.

I am alive and these windows

are smothering.

Open them up!

Tactile!

Feel this vivid landscape

for real.

Oh the part about being in solidarity with the window-genius

I'm humbled, and blushing... TY
*Speechless* oh my goodness! I.. I can't find the words! This is so good! I don't know why it left me with so many thoughts and feelings at the same time! Phenomenal writing.. simple.. deep..to the point..abstract.. funny.. sarcastic..metaphorical..dark...sad.. so astute and on-point. I'll have to come back and re-read and give a fuller review. For now a straight 100 from me
