Doll

Doll

A Poem by Follan

I stopped caring,
I stopped seeing,
I stopped believing ,
I'm just a doll,
Sitting on a rusty window,
Waiting for my keeper,
My eyes never blink,
Afraid of missing my keeper,
The others dolls, their eyes bright, get picked by their destined keeper,
Leaving me in the dust,
I stopped caring,
My heart slowly losing its beat,
It started to freeze,
I stopped coping,
The store owner stopped polishing me,
Leaving me to age and crack,
My lips stopped smiling,
It forgot how to,
My ears stopped hearing,
It forgot why ...
My hair once lush,is now straw like covering me,
It forgot the point of looking good,
My body rusting,the joint stuck,
It forgot the point life,
My keeper never came,
But I'll wait until my heart stops,
Until I'm deaf and blind,
Until all my hair falls out,
For the person that'll never come,
I stopped caring,
There's plenty of other new dolls,
Eyes brighter,hair lusher,prettier,
So,why will I expect someone to pick me?
I sit on the rusty window, staring into the black hole,
Waiting,
After all where else can I go,
I'm just a doll,
A doll..

Interesting comparison, from the following line from the poem "So,why will I expect someone to pick me? " the answer could be because the doll stopped caring.

heart touching. beautifully written for something that is used and thrown. It indeed is a different world for them. it must be pretty disappointing to wait endlessly for someone who you know will never come for you. English is my third language but i would like to point out the little err ( you might be in a hurry to post and left unnoticed )on the last line which i use to do often until someone pointed out - 'I'm just a doll,
A doll.. '
i think it should be ' A doll...'
Thanks for the lovely read in this bright morning.
