Time/No Time

Time/No Time

A Poem by Louis McNab
"

"There is not a single scientific way to prove the passage of time. For all we may know, time has never existed, nor has it ever passed. Imagine the implications of that." - Unknown

Time

We try to catch it all our lives

The soft ticking is one of the first noises we hear

We remember it for the rest of our days

The closer we get to catching it,

The smaller the gap

The emptier the soul

/

A man wilts in some hospital

His sons gone, his wife dead,

Nothing remains but the infernal ticking

Old eyes close, and the clock stops

Instantly, his chest falls and the line goes flat

He caught up with the clocks

No time
