Sass It ~

Sass It ~

A Poem by Foxemerald

Sass It ~

Run like crazy in the rain-

Give it some sass . . .

Don't let anyone see that your creative bone,

Is like the cut of your sweater-

Which looks like a frilly maid's flower,

So garish when she walks-

That it flounces,

So that other people who talk behind their hands say,

She's definitely lost her marbles today.

Throw the chicken on the table with the bone inside,

Because why, why should you let it just-

Sit there and make a mock,

Your attempts to make a wholesome dinner perchance.

Definitely makes you wonder . . .

What you ever did to deserve,

This maddening task-

That whoever gave life to you provided.

Honestly, Mum, you tried to tell her after dinner was just over-

I tried my best.

Why, why, why-

What have you done to deserve this worrisome life,

You ask Mother Mary-

Over the prayers at brunch,

After she had,

Ignored your requests yet again-

To have the man of your love come to you at last,

And blessed you with a bum.

Why, why, why-

You ask yourself, when Mum comes later with a pan and spatula,

Your eyes going wide-

What have I done to earn it?

Just run like crazy in the rain today-

Don't feel put out of wit if anyone sasses.
