Tired of Waiting

Tired of Waiting

A Poem by Fran Marie

 I'll light a candle
in a room that's cold and dark.
Then look out the window
wondering where you are?

As I listen to the radio
those bluesy songs
remind me of you,
and that I'm alone
feeling sad and blue

I stare at the telephone
Ha! thinking you might call
and pace the floor, thinking~
It must ring tonight!
then wait some more
trying to convince
myself~it will be alright
while silent teardrops fall

Watching the tick-tock
of the clock on the wall
Waiting 'til the hour is long
Thinking,~Are you being true?
Doubting I'll see you at all.
Pondering what ever am I to do?

As the candle flickers to a dying flame
I'm still left here Waiting
knowing it's quite insane
but still anticipating
On my lips, lies your repeated name

'Alas, I realize we are through
you'll not walk thru~my door
And Darlin' to be quite truthful
I'm tired of waiting for you
and sleeping in a bed
We share, No more

Sad.
I like the ,,delicate,, manor in witch you describe the start of love's slow death.

Great write.
